About Jose

Jose Lara is the Mayor of Liberal, Kansas, an insurance agent, and a native Kansan. He previously served on the Board of Trustees for Southwest Medical Center. He lives in Liberal, Kansas with his wife and three children.

Jose is running for Kansas Senate to create a better future for rural Kansas and bring honesty, empathy, and leadership back to our district. That means expanding access to high-quality health care, delivering more economic opportunities to western Kansas, and securing state support for critical fire and EMS staffing needs.
