Senator Marci Francisco
About Marci
Marci Francisco was elected to her first term in the Kansas Senate in 2004. She represents parts of Lawrence in Douglas County. Marci also serves as the Agenda Chair in the Senate Democrats caucus.
Before serving in the Senate, Marci served her community as Commissioner and Mayor of Lawrence, Kansas. In addition, she has experience serving as an Analyst and Architect on various organizations for sustainability and infrastructure, including at the University of Kansas.
During her time in the Kansas Senate, Marci has become one of the state’s leading advocates on women’s issues, the environment, and education. She continues her advocacy for public schools supporting increases for special education funding and opposing using public dollars to implement vouchers or tax credits for private school tuition.
