Richard Smith worked for 31 years as a mechanical engineer, and was a stress engineer for the last ten years. He is a past president of the Mid Kansas Jewish Federation and of the Hebrew Congregation in Wichita. He currently serves on the board of the Wichita Grand Opera and plays trombone in the Great Plains Jazz Orchestra across Wichita and the outlying Kansas communities.
As State Senator, Richard will focus his efforts on ensuring that we are fully funding Kansas’s public schools, expanding access to health care, and protecting Kansans’ freedoms to healthcare from government overreach.
